Fluid Cleanliness

System filters remove contaminants generated through normal operations. Contamination can be external and internal. External contaminants come from contaminated oil supplies, leaking seals, and manufacturing processes. Internal contaminants are produced through normal wear and lubricant breakdown. 

Contaminated new oil and leaking seals cause a condition where system filters must capture external contamination. System filters are designed to capture internal contamination and external contamination causes them to have a shortened life cycle.

The best defense against external contamination is to insure fluid cleanliness before installing in Оборудование. Offline filtration cleans fluids before installation and can filter fluids while they are in use.

We recommend using the International Standards Organization Cleanliness Code 4406. Contaminants in the 2, 5, and 15 micron range are measured for a baseline comparison against standards for your Оборудование, filters, and fluids. Contamination levels measured outside your standards range are flags for action.
